yet another auditionI just found out that my high school is doing BBB for the fall musical in November. I know that in most places, auditionees will sing showtunes, but at my school, people sing pretty much anything. I have done a little research on the show and I'm pretty sure I want to go for either Conrad or Albert. There are 3 guys (including myself) that will be going for these two roles. One of the guys is a senior and he's really good, so he'll get one of the two roles. So, that leaves the other role between me and the other guy who is the same age as me.(we are both juniors) He has one year of experience on me and is a tenor (I'm a baritone/bass). I'm really trying to impress my director at auditions this year, so I can get a good part.
So, I have a couple questions:
--Who is the male lead? Some people say that it's Albert, and some say it's Conrad. Whoever the lead charactwer is will be what role the older guy gets. And hopefully, I'll get the other one.
--If the male lead is Albert, and I want to go for Conrad, would it work if I sang an Elvis song for my audition? I know that Conrad is very Elvis-like, so I thought maybe if I sang an Elvis song, the director would kind of see me in that role.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.....hope I didn't confuse you!

Albert is definitely the guy lead, with Conrad being just barely the second biggest over Mr. Macafee in my opinion.
I would say if you are a baritone/bass go for Mr. Macafee as Conrad is the highest of the three principal guys (Albert 2nd highest and Macafee lowest).

Albert is the male lead, hands down.
Conrad and Mr. MacAfee are both supporting, but I'd say that Mr. MacAfee is a larger role. Both roles are very well recieved by the audience and are a blast to play! So, don't rule out Mr. MacAfee.
Good luck at your audition!

I agree with the above replies--Albert is clearly the male lead. Beyond that, I'm not sure, but I think Conrad is a bit bigger role than Mr MacAfee.
I think it would be a fine idea to sing an Elvis song for the audition. Or better yet, if you have to sing an MT song, try the Pharoah's song from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

I agree with everyone saying Albert is the lead.
But for secondary..
i say it depends. For singing... it would be Conrad...
for acting..it would be Mr. MacAfee.

Thanks for the input. I'm definately considering Mr. Macafee now, too. I'm a stronger actor than the other guy thats my age, so that's probably the role I'll end up with.

Yeah definitely seems like you'll get Mr. Macafee.
You're a stronger actor and a lower singer, he's a higher singer...Macafee is lower and more of an actor where as conrad frankly doesn't have much he has to do acting wise (basically just elvis imitation) but he does sing significantly higher than Mr. Macafee.
