Okay, so I just figured something out and you can call me stupid if you want.

During The Wizard and I when she sings, "for half of Oz's favorite team..." I always wondered which team the other half of Oz liked. I figured it out like ten minutes ago, after listening to the song maybe 50 times (not in a row or anything though). lol...Did anybody else do this or something like it?

ETA: Maybe this didn't make a whole lot of sense the way I explained it. Yes, I understand that the team is her and the Wizard, but I thought she meant half of Oz as opposed to half of the team. Like, half of Oz likes the team, instead of she's half of their favorite team (the Wizard being the other half). Does that make any more sense?

Anyway, I thought it was funny so I was asking if anybody else thought that or thought something similarly wrong about anything else.

ETA: I still don't think people are understanding this. I am fully aware that that is not what he meant but it was the way that I heard the sentence. Damn people are slow.

I always thought the lyric was "we're all of Oz's favorite team."
I always assumed the team was Elphaba and the Wizard.
So, what half of Oz/team does it refer too?
Am I missing something here...

that's exactly what it is..it is all about the Wizard and her as a team given the context...in the story very few people actually sympathize with Elphaba..it's hard because as fans/audience members we tend to feel for her much more than the actual charcters do..so I doubt she would be favored by "half of OZ" plus she doesn't know about how the Wizard is lying yet..so I don't think Schwartz meant that in this song.
