Wow. I'm in shock. I might get to be in Wicked!!!

Shocked So I just found out I'VE BEEN CHOSEN AS ONE OF THE SEMIFINALISTS for the "Wannabe Wicked" competition, where the prize is a WALK ON ROLE in Wicked! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!

(Excuse me. I just had to scream.) Very Happy

So now I have to sing "Defying Gravity" live at Universal CityWalk on July 9th (I think....still waiting for the details), and they'll choose the winner from those performances.

Any advice for standing out? Performance tips? I'm only singing the first part of the song, up until "...and you can't pull me down." (That's all they'll let us do)
Belle

I'd suggest you concentrate on performing it as naturally as possibly - don't clone mannerisms from an Elphaba onstage, do your own thing but make it relaxed and natural. And be as confident as possible - rehearse plenty!

Less is more. Especially with banners.

Paint your face green.

If you're gonna go green, paint more than your face! Neck, ears, hands, any visible skin... wandering around with a green face makes you look like you're wearing a facepack, not Elphaba!

That's a really constructive thing to say.

Good luck Rumpelteazer, make sure you let us know how you go!

Are you trying to be sarcastic? If not, then I agree with you. If you are- Luc actually gave really good advice (although I'm not sure what he meant with the banner thing). Tons of girls think they *are* Elphie and get really energetic and over-the-top with Defying Gravity. But if you do it as naturally as possible, the judges are more likely to be impressed.

The less is more thing was about the amount of people with banners that are too big. I think.

Good luck, Rumpleteazer!
Luc

I was referring to the large sizes of both banners.

I don't have any advice for you. I just want to say Congratulations & good luck! Very Happy

...I wouldn't paint my face green. You're going for a walk on role, not Elphaba. Good to show enthusiasm, but I don't think it's the best idea.

"Sing out, Louise!"

Just do your best and good luck!!
