Worth Seeing???Every year, the Hollywood Bowl in L.A. does one musical and usually they're really good (the last three stared Melissa Errico!). This year, they're doing South Pacific staring Reba McEntire and Brian Stokes Mitchell. I love Mitchell, but I don't know about McEntire as Nellie. Should I still go see it? I love the show, but I don't want to see it murdered.

McInyre is DREADFUL as Nellie. but dont pass up the chance to see Mitchell as DeBeque. his "This Nearly Was Mine' outshines ANYONE who has ever performed the song..I mean ANYONE.

I thought it was very good. I liked the fact that Reba took an old role and changed it a little to suit her more, although whether this was a good thing or not is argueable. Mitchell is of course fantastic. The rest of the cast was great as well.

a little/ she positively destroyed it. too old...and she played it like a tennessee bumpkin not an arkansa novice.
