WORKINGI am a student who recently performed Working and I instintly fell in love with the musical. Songs include "Mill workin'" "See that Buildin" and, of course, "Working" I played the role as the teacher. Thoughts on this unique musical?

Working ThoughtsI did this musical several years ago and it was fabulous! I'm really surprised that more aren't doing it, I enjoyed it and thought it was very unique!

Working is done quite often by community theaters, in part, because it needs a small cast, and people can usually play more than one role.
Surprised if you played the teacher and are mentioning songs that you didn't mention the teacher's song - "Nobody Tells Me How" which is very moving.

Well, I am a younger student, so some of the musical was cut, but the parts we did were fabulous.

I recently saw this at one of the local high schools - it was awful. I can't decide though if it was just the poor writing of the show or how the students performed it - I figured it was a mixture of both. The full cast numbers were weak and for most of the songs the lead singer just stood there. The only songs I really love are the paper boy's song and the waitress's song. Those are the only really memorable songs... (except "See That Building," which, for me, is only memorable because of it's dullness...)

I have to admit. Working is one of those shows that is either fantastic, or horrible. In order to have a good run with this show, you need to have very talented and hardworking performers.
