Woot!I just got cast as Maria in my school's production. Which is awesome. Because it's a dream come true, as Natalie Wood is my idol.
Any advice from any former Marias?

Congrats! As to advice:
Pray that the actor playing Tony is attractive.. 
DO NOT go crazy during "I feel Pretty" and bang into things (it's not fun)
DO put your heart and soul into this wonderful character (especially at the end)!
Have fun, Maria is a great role!

Well, if things go my way, my boyfriend should be playing Tony. He's quite talented, and very attractive.

I heard it's actually quite hard having someone that you actually love onstage loving you... yes, I am very aware that made little to no sense.
But, look at Menzel/Diggs. I heard that they were horrible in WICKED together for the one-night thing when Diggs was Fiyero.
I dunno. It might just be them.

Our Tony and our Maria HATED each other, but they worked marvellously onstage.
This is one of my favorite musicals and from being in it, I can tell you you're going to have a lot of fun. But it's also going to be a lot of work.
In the end, you'll see it's a truly rewarding show to be a part of.

We've been practicing the audition scenes like crazy, and it seems our chemistry on and offstage is just as good as ever.
The only thing is, I don't know if my music teacher trusts us to behave onstage...we are the couple that gets busted making out in the instrument room like every other week. But I have no doubts that onstage we'll be able to control our...very adolescent urges. We're actors, goddamit.

Casting's done!
My BF got Tony. I'm very excited. Our teachers gave us a speech on being 'professional' in case of a break up. I told them not to worry, we're not breaking up any time soon.
But casting is done and that means rehearsals, which are the most fun ever with my cast.
