Witch Costume DesignI saw a production of Into the Woods about two weeks ago and one of my favorite designers designed the Witch and Wolf costume. His name is Frederic Pineau. Anyone heard of him? Anyway, I was able to get a copy of the costume design and am going to post it right now. Tell me what you think of it. Because the theater company I work for is interested in it and the wolf. Please post your thoughts!
I will post the wolf design later. I still have to get permission from Frederic.

I do like that one. Especially the candle. Do you have photos from the show? My favorite witch design is that of the recent Stratford production, in which the witch (he he) wore her garden.
EDIT: I just googled Frederic Pineau. Wow, some of his stuff is amazing. The wolf was alright, but not the best.

I love the garden witch costume. Really original. And I love Frederic's designs. He is an amazing costume and set designer. Does anyone have any designs or pics of other wolf costumes?

I can show you an example of what NOT to do for the wolf:

I love the wolf face... I just think it looks cheesey. And it sucks because that looks rather expensive.
Ya' know what'd be neat and VERY original? Just get a live wolf to play the role. That'd be tight.

The wolf face looks great, it's just the rest of the costume. That'd be tight to have real wolf, but yet tis impossible.

The wolf costume I saw was anatomically correct. It was...interesting.
But a real wolf, that would just make my day. Especially if it could sing! *loves wolves*

If (no WHEN) I direct Into the Woods, I will (try to) have a live wolf. And you can have the guy singing the wolf offstage...
Back to design... In your production does/will the wolf and Cindy's prince double? If so, I've always liked (in ITW's that I've seen that've done that) when the wolf's costume resembles the prince's. Did that make any sense?

I'm getting sick of it. I love that song, though. It gets stuck in my head so easily. "You're the top! You're the Tower of Pisa. You're the top! I'm the Mona Lisa".

Yes, Cinderella's prince did double for the wolf, and Rumpunzel's prince doubled as the mysterious man. I don't know why they did that, because the narrator doubles as the Mysterious Man.
Here is a picture of the witch for the above design by Frederic
Some designs I found(I believe they're from the OBC-correct me if Im wrong)

Yeah, those are from the OBC.
Wow, the makeup in that witch costume is AWESOME! How did they transform her into the beautiful witch so quickly. Do you know?

Actuallly, the witch didn't wear any make-up, well except for the required make-up, it was just a stretchy latex mask and really fitted onto her face!!! I thought it was make-up too.

Those drawings are completely awesome. And on the subject of wolves, I LOVE the wolf's jacket in the OBC. I want to steal it. And wear it every day.
