Wind it UpDear Musicals.Net Posters,
If you've seen Gwen Stefani's "Wind it Up" music video, what do you think of it?
I sort of like it, but I can't figure out how its lyrics relate to "The Sound of Music". I mean, is Gwen Stefani talking about weather or not Captain VonTrapp can "wind [Maria] up," or is she commenting on the uncertain relationship between Liesl and Rolf? Is she simply talking about the story of "The Lonely Goatherd"?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

She's just using part of the song. It has nothing to do with The Sound of Music. There's no angle to this music video... It's just... poppy. *shivers*
How come crappy artists can't leave musical theatre alone?

I think it's wiser to regard this as another incident of pop singers making porridge out of musical theatre songs.
