Wicked Wednesdays start June 27 at Universal Studios HollywoOscar-nominated thespian, Carol Kane, currently seen as Madame Morrible in "Wicked" at LA's Pantages theater, will introduce a "Wicked Wednesdays" series of noon performances at Universal Studios Hollywood this week (Wednesday, June 27) offering the blockbuster musical's fans an opportunity to enjoy special performances, meet the stars and collect autographs from the cast of the L.A. production. Performances will be at the "Blues Brothers" stage inside the theme park.Carol Kane will introduce talented cast members Julie Reiber (Elphaba) and Melissa Fahn (Glinda), who will perform a sampling of the show's most popular numbers ("The Wizard and I," "Popular," "For Good"). Two of the show's other stars -- Eden Espinosa and Kristoffer Cusick -- will need no escorts when they make their "Wicked Wednesdays" appearances later in the summer; both got their start singing and dancing in Universal Studios Hollywood theme park shows ("Spiderman Rocks," and "Beetlejuice"). "Wicked Wednesday" performances at the theme park will be reprised on July 11 and July 25. |

Any clue which day Eden will appear? I know both my daughters would give up their wardrobe budgets to meet her, any I have vacation days I need to burn.

1. Go to LA 2. See a short performance 3. Meet the cast. |

short performance? You mean cast dressed down singing a few songs?

So singing a song isn't a performance? I classify anything performed to an audience as a performance, even some pop star singing a song at a concert is a performance. |

This is a link to Universal's info page. Not much there. I have no idea who will be there when they say "Ozians". Probably the chorus with no leads.

Went to Wicked Wednesday yeaterday. The official show consisted of John Rubenstein acting as MC and introducing Eden Espinosa (who performed TWAI), Megan Hilty (who performed "Popular"), and finaly Eden and Megan performing "For Good". The ladies sounded spectacular as expected.
I didn't get any decent photos because the place was jammed and there was inadequate seating (or even standing room). Ditto for the photo-op / autograph session after the show. There must have been 500 people in line to meet the cast after the show. The rest of my party and I opted to spend our time in the park as opposed to waiting in what looked to be a 2 hr. line to meet the stars of the show. The real surprise of the event was the Karaoke contest that preceded the show. The number of quality performers was impressive. I have no idea how many were pros, but some of them sounded - and acted - very good. The winner of the contest was a kid who could be a double for Matthew (the former FMJ). He was a fantastic singer who performed "For Good" solo. I was kind of hoping it was Matthew so that I could go say hi, but the kid's name turned out to be Adam. All in all it was a good show, but would have benefitted from a better venue. It was not worth a trip on its own, but was worth it as part of a theme park visit that the kids enjoyed. |

Yeah, I don't do Universal Studios that often, only City Walk. Especially if it's Wicked-y. |
