--> Have any of you actually heard this recording?
It's Wicked - recorded for and by kids? I didn't buy it but I'm very curious?
To me it just seems like a bad idea?

Oh, good god. Nothing ruins a good song more than it being covered by tuneless brats in an effort to get the 'awww!' dollar.

It doesn't really excite me but I'm not going to be plugging my ears up. I doesn't really have an effect on me. I don't like to whine about stuff like this. But hey, if it leads to more people becoming interested in musical theatre, I'm all for it. Whatever.

 When I read Wicked for kids I though maybe they'd released some Les Mis SE type rights.

That is weird too. It's like Kids Bop except Broadway music.

Kids Bop sucks and to ruin Broadway songs, especially Wicked which is one of the great newer musicals, is just plain wrong!

All I can say to that CD is "Wow...." And not in a good way...That has to be quite an "interesting" recording...I mean, I guess it's a good way to get kids into theatre but I won't exactly be rushing to buy that.

I don't want to go into too much of a rant about my indescribable contempt for Kidz Bop, but the first time I heard a bunch of little kids singing "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," I nearly snapped. I think I'll skip the Wicked kids.

I listened to the 30 second preview on iTunes, and I reccomend that you refrain from doing likewise: sounds like a spoiled-snot-nosed little 12 yr old girl butchering wicked.
