Why Isn't Children of Eden a Broadway Musical?

Children of Eden is one of my favorite musicals and yet it hasn't made it's way to the Broadway stage yet. This show is amazing. The music, the message of the show, the beautiful costumes and set, everything about this show screams broadway musical. Does anyone know why it's not?

Didn't it open on Broadway and flop?

...Because just because you like a musical dosen't mean it has to be on Broadway?

Besides, most people hate Children of Eden. Get over it.

I think it was in New jersey at one point, but I'm sure sure if it was on Broadway.

Edit: I just looked on Wikipedia, and apparently it had a short run in London, but never made it to Broadway.

It has never been on Broadway, but because of the success of Wicked, they're finally bringing it to Broadway in 2008. I'd love to see it.

You know... you are so endearing Rolling Eyes

I really love Children of Eden... I know I am breaking some kind of musical theatre law for liking a Schwartz show... but to quote pish's kind statement "Get over it"

Children of Eden is one ofthe worst shows ive ever seen. I had to see 2 different productions of it because frends were i them. its a worse show than even Wicked,Aida or Jeykll and Hyde...which are the worst 3 shows i ever saw on broadway.

How come Schwartz is basically treated like a lepper here? He must've done something right to be so successful.

Anyway, just because YOU hate a show it doesn't mean it's bad...sorta like Wicked or The Pirate Queen. Wicked is one of those umitigated successes with a group of ditractors who hate it for a variety of reasons-it butchered the book (which it did, but I still love the show anyway), it's too commercial, etc. The Pirate Queen, on the other hand, was a complete flop...it only stayed open for something ridiculous like 3 or 4 months. Nonetheless, it still has a fan base (to which I belong...somewhere at the bottom) I think my main reason for liking that show was Stephanie J Block. She made the score sound better than it actually was (I admit it...the lyrics and music are no where near the quality of Les Mis) and there's something fun about a mysoginist getting his ass kicked by his wife, who happens to be a blood-thirsty Irish pirate...no wonder Donal was a whoring drunk Mr. Green
Anyway, so in Pirate's case, most say its crap, but there are those who like it and vise virsa for Wicked...that's just the way life works on Broadway...I don't think there has ever been a musical that EVERYONE liked or hated...if I'm wrong, please correct me.

It is a show I love too, and have since I first heard the music. If that makes me a MdN pariah, so what....

I was in Children Of Eden and I loved it so much. Although the audiences didn't really like it very much.

I think it's a good show but maybe not for Broadway. .
