Because, all though you may hate Monty Python, not everyone does. A lot of people like them, and, because of the success of the Holy Grail, people want to go see it live.

I liked it.
And I don't know what reviews you read, because it did win the Tony for best musical in 05. Obviously lots and lots of people thought it was good.

well then it just doesn't do it for me!

Not Dead Yet

I go back and forth between musicals a lot in terms of what my current favourite is, but I think that Spamalot will always be the closest to my heart. It's just my type of comedy, I'm a huge Python head. There, I said it.

Cause it's brilliant that's why.
Simple as that.
And Not Dead Yet...VIVA LA PYTHON HEADS!
That is all.

a lot of the times there are shows everyone will dislike
but to be respectful we dont go posting our opinions in caps letters basically waiting to start a fight.
its not how mdn works.

Like it or not, that show is "Not Yet Dead." To those of you who think it "Won't Succeed on Broadway," get used to it. The "Knights of the Round Table" are here to stay. Of course, if you truly "Find Your Grail" elsewhere, "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"--you could "Run Away" to "Finland"; I here it isn't playing there yet. One thing's clear though, your "Diva's Lament" won't do any good. "All for One," the audiences like the show, so on it will play.

You may not believe this, but it is not always just your opinion that is the deciding one when it comes to taking a show on or off Broadway.

Monty Python are true comedic genuises. and although Spamalot may not be as great a show as say grey gardens or 110 in the shade..its delightful fun!
and it deserves to be on broadway more than crap like Spring Awakening,Wicked or Phantom of the Opera.

Spamalot is still on not just because it's hilarious, but the costumes are incredible, the music is catchy, the choreography brilliant, the sets creative, and it's just all-around a fantastic musical.

All of you are wrong. It's still on Broadway because it sells enough tickets.
