WHOA! Last-minute callbacks tonight! Help ASAP please! So.
Long story short, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown auditions were restricted to 18 and over, so I was prevented from auditioning along with my sister (14), my friend (17), and another girl (17). They didn't have the girl talent they wanted so they let the 17-year-old girl audition and she got Sally. Now, however, their Linus has dropped out (the part I originally wanted) and they've asked me and my friend to come in tonight to their music rehearsal and then sing and read separately after.
Any advice? Please? I don't know what to do to really blow them out of the water... I personally think I rock at the Linus accent, so that won't be a problem, and I'm planning on singing Lullaby of Broadway (what I intended to sing at the original audition) unless, of course, they ask me to sing something from the show.
Thanks so much!

If you can get a hold of it I would definitely try to listen and get familiar with "My Blanket and Me"...that's the big Linus song (and so cute!)
If they want to hear something from the show, I would bet they'd pick that song!

I know the show backwards and forwards, so that's not really a problem.
So my friend and I stayed through the audition and sang Linus' part together and all... and tonight we're going back at 8.30 to sing My Blanket and Me individually. I'll let you know how it goes.

RELAX!!!!!!!!!!! You know your stuff...you started to prep for it before, so there should be no problem. It's not like you totally forgot all the work you did...
I'm guessing they'll just cut to the chase and make you sing from the score...No biggie, as you seem to be pretty confident about it...
BREATHE!
And above all HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The more fun you have, the more fun they'll have watching you!

YAY!!!!!!
What did you have to do for the callback?
Was there any advice that was particularly helpful?
Your experience I think would help others on the board!

For the callback, they had me sing "My Blanket and Me" and then they had the other guy sing it. Then they had him sing the beginning ("It's a cozy sanctuary...") and I sang the end ("It's foolish, I know it..."). Then they had us flip flop, and I sang the beginning bit and he sang the ending bit. Then we each read with the girl who was playing Sally (although she read Lucy for us). They had us read the Queen bit (when Linus tells her she can't be queen because she would have to be in the royal family), and they had us read Linus's bit with Lucy's survey, and they had us read one more scene which now I can't remember...
It definitely helped to just have fun. I was really relaxed during the whole thing, something I'm not used to during auditions.
