Thank you all so much for helping me! I had aquestion about the Music Man cast:

Who are the following parts (a couple sentences would be great to describe the character!), and who is the 'largest' of the three? (most lines, singing, etc..) Thank you!

Out of: Amaryllis, Zaneeta, and Gracie Shinn

correct me if I'm wrong... but I BELIEVE... Zaneeta

they are all small roles but Zaneeta has the most material out of the three.

Zaneeta and Gracie are the Mayor's daughters...Zaneeta is actually a pretty good part. She has a couple cute scenes with Tommy (her boyfriend) and is supposed to be one of the main dancers in the Shipoopi. Gracie is younger and only has a few lines.

Amaryllis is Marian's piano student. She really only has one scene but she gets to sing a bit of "Goodnight My Someone". It's a great role if you're young.

zanetta has the most lines and does have a bogger part,but she doesnt get to sing at all. ammerillas(sp?) gets to sing "goodnight my someone"

If you can play piano, I suggest Amaryllis. If you can't, Zaneeta. =D

Gracie Shinn is definitely the smallest... I think Zaneeta is the biggest, but both Amaryllis and Zaneeta are reasonably good roles--as mentioned by the other posters, Amaryllis gets to sing a bit in "Goodnight, My Someone," but Zaneeta has more lines and such, like getting to dance in "Shipoopi." I think it's really more a matter of which role suits your age better: Amaryllis is a little girl, whereas Zaneeta should be played by a teenager.

The role is only as big as you make it if you ask me, but in our play the one with the most lines was probably Zaneeta
