Who is the best role of Billy Flynn?

I have seen CHICAGO twice.
I think that Usher is the best role of Billy Flynn.
I hope Usher play the role of Billy Flynn.

How about you?Who is the best role of Billy Flynn?

For me:

1) Clarke Peters
2) Kevin Richardson

Okay, NOT Usher.

He was stunt cast.

WAAAAY too young.

Couldn't act his way out of a box.

That being said, Eric Jordan Young was a ROCKIN Billy. My fave, hands down. Coming in close behind him are Brent Barrett, Michael Kubala, Wayne Brady, Shawn Emamjomeh, Taye Diggs and Billy Zane. (yum, Billy Zane)

Very Happy

I miss the good ole days Wink
Kev

omg Gregory Harrison and Tom Wopat!!11!!

I've made it pretty clear in my other posts that the man was an abysmal piece of walking death in the role Smile
SupremeDiva

Just the fact that Kevin opened the post with 'omg' should have been enough to tell you he was being sarcastic lol

btw, Kev, I laughed out loud when I read your initial post.

egh. my bad! d'oh!

Mr. Green
Joe

for me:
Billy Zane

ah that last cast at the Shubert Theatre: Caroline O'Connor and Billy Zane - heaven.
Monsieur D'Arque

I've seen a lot of Billys, and I have to say that my favorite is (and I know he was only in the movie) Richard Gere. The way he showed both the "I'm just a friendly guy" touch of mischief and the hard-assed con artist character really worked for me. And I also thought that for being not entirely stellar, his voice was perfect for the role.
SupremeDiva

Im sorry to be a bitch, but I have to ask.... if Richard Gere is your favorite Billy, who are the other actors you've seen that you're comparing him to?

The only reason I ask is that I too, have seen a LOT of Billys and I felt Gere's performance fell flat in a lot of places...... though, on a whole, Im a little in love with Richard Gere.

Joe, I totally agree.... that was a stellar cast.

And there's nothing like Chicago at the Shubert with front row rush. I know I say it all the time, but I miss those days!
Salome

Henry Goodman hands down.

also
Alan Thicke
Clarke Peters

And of course not havimng seen him but heard him..the great Jerry.
RTTugger1977

The only one I've seen is Richard Gere, so that's all I really have to go on. However, I have HEARD Jerry Orbach on the original cast CD, and I forgot who played him in the revival cast...so my vote goes with Richard Gere. Just because he was in the movie and not on stage doesn't make him any better or worse.

the fabulous James Naughton on the revival cd.
Don't Tell Mama

Richard Gere surprised me, I'll say that much. He's not my favorite, though. That title goes to Jerry Orbach. (:

And I must say, James Naughton is rather fabulous.
Salome

naughton was goos..but nowhere near as good as henry goodman in london.
Monsieur D'Arque

I have to say, I would have liked Orbach more if the tempos used in his time were a little faster and not as sluggish as they were back then. His infamous juggling performance on Carson singing Razzle Dazzle just dragged ridiculously.
