blah blah. OBC.

And I saw it in Chicago about a hundred times because of stupid choir trips. Elphabas were Ana Gasteyer, Kristy Cates and...uh...other chicks.

Of all the performers I liked Grey as the Wizard and Kate Reinders as Glinda (in chicago) the best.

<3 I'm so happy someone agrees with me. I don't understand why there's so much Kate hate.

Wow, I'm completely blanking on the rest of the cast members. Once I look it up in my playbills, I'll post them. Personally, Kristy Cates was my favorite Elphaba ever, and Kate Reinders was my favorite Glinda (with Erin Mackey a close second). I really wish I could see Annaleigh Ashford, though.

Salome

joel grey and george hearn as the wizard.

who cares about the rest of the cast.
Catherine

Nessa is a good character too. I just wish they'd have given her more stage time. She needs to be devleoped!
Salome

and they shouldnt have given her arms!

Salome wrote:

yes, because they are so many actresses out there missing arms.

Actually, I liked the wheelchair idea better. It made the point of her walking a much bigger deal than in the book.
Salome

its called proper costuming. you can easily make someone look limbless.

and the wheelchair bit only makes her ordinary. one of the many things the musical; did to f u ck up the novel in transferance.
BroadwayObssessed

^^^ I dont think it makes her ordinary...it made her much more appearent when she was on stage

Ordinary: average; lacking special distinction, rank, or status; commonly encountered.

I'm 99.9% sure she was the only one who was sitting in a wheelchair and not dancing all around, but I could be wrong. Wink
shakalakababy

I saw it with Eden Espinosa and Kendra Kassebaum, don't remember who else

what i mean is..there are tons of people in wheelchairs in our society. not alot of people walking around missing two arms. it makes her a grotesque in literary terms as oppossed to a handicapped girl.

They wanted a family friendly musical and a person with no arms is a lot more jarring then a person in a wheelchair.

I don't think it would be jarring.

If kids can handle a house falling on someone, they can certainly handle a woman with no arms.

biggest mistake was making it family freindly! thats what really f* cked up them usical. I take it you read the book so you know how poorly the musical is wrtten compared to the novel?

I've loved her in everything. I think she's effing fantastic.

Plus, she's from West Michigan like me. Smile

Her dad was my brother's allergist.

But going back to the actual point of this post, I think she's lovely and SO sweet, and I actually found her Glinda funny.

Dear Salome,

You have stated your opinion on Wicked honestly probably 100+ times. We understand. You don't have to bring it up in every single thread.

"Who did you see in Wicked?"
"i dnot likei t. its tooh appy."
