You could be Audrey - she's only one of the most saught after roles in musical theater!

Check out the synopsis and a cast recording!

LSOH is a GREAT show! Good luck!

i wouldnt say one of the most sought after rolesi n musical theatre. its a cute role but come on. when you have meaty rolesi n Follies, Sweeney Todd,My Fair Lady, Parade, Into the Woods,Company,Threepenny Opera,Camelot,Gypsy etc... Audrey isnt even a glimmer on the list of most sought after roles.

Alright, I'll have to agree with you this time Salome!
Nonetheless, Audrey is still a great role.

Salome, I have to mention that I chuckled when I made the connection between "meaty" characters and Sweeney Todd! Razz

definitely audrey! i was lucky enough to get her last year, and she's so much fun! Well, I enjoyed using her accent anyway, and wearing a wig. :-p Break a leg!

yeah but i dont look like an audry (supposedly) and at my school, looks count
candlestickjay

Looks count everywhere dear, unfortunately. Well, good luck! Maybe you culd try for one of the Doowops? I know they are African American in the movie, but our school cast them as white (just because I live in a teeny southern town with a very small African American population).

Audrey is the lead female, and then there are the three doo-wop girls. Yeah, technically they are African-American, but high schools will usually just go with three strong singers. You have to have three girls who blend well and work together well. Strong voices because of the doo-wop harmonies. And they are on stage A LOT. They're basically like narrators, and they have a lot of songs. If the three of you really work together, you can have a lot of fun. Besides that, there is Mrs. Luce. She sings one verse in "The Meek Shall Inherit." That's it for her. And then there's the ensemble. So, that's what you have in terms of female roles. Please let us know how the audition goes and what you get! Smile

thanks also i wanted to know if i wanted to push for the part of audry wehat song should i use to audition with. It cant be anything from the show though.

Maybe this is overdone, but I continually hear the suggestion to sing "Happy to keep his dinner warm" from How to Succeed...
The song's subject matter is perfect for Audrey.
