Which would you choose? My college has got one of our spring shows down to four possible choices, so I was wondering (just for fun) which of the four shows you all would choose. Be sure to explain your choices.
1) Angels in America
2) A Doll's House
3) A Lie of the Mind
4) The Elephant Man

If I, persoanlly could do one of these plays, I would probably choose Angels in America because of the subject matter and the really challenging character roles that are available. I will admit, I have never seen the stage play done, but I thought the HBO version was magnificent.

Angels in America is something like seven hours long altogether, and while it is a masterpiece, it's a lot for a college to tackle.
I'd go with The Elephant Man.

Elephant man.
all are great shows but the epic, emotional and intellectual nature of this show is over powering. its just such a brillaint piece of theatre.

A Doll's House. While Elephant Man is clearly the best play on the list, something about A Doll's House as a college production appeals to me.

Thank you all for your opinions! The show will be decided on in a few days, so I'll let you all know what is picked. For me, I'd go with either Doll's House or Elephant Man. They seem the easiest to pull off, and with the least offensive subject matter. And yes, offensive subject matter is something that can make or break a decision to do certain shows at my college.

wow i never heard of subject matter being an issue in college!
elephant man is brillaint but very hard to "pull off" as you put it without alot of time, effort and creativity.

And the winner is... Angels in America. I really wanted Elephant Man, but I was assured that it will be considered again in the very near future. Thoughts about the final decision?
Oh, and Nettik, it won't be seven hours long like you thought; we're not doing the Perestroika section.
