Which type of Meg do you like the most (hair color)?Dear "TPotO" Fans,Which type of Meg do you like the most, with regards to hair color? I don't know much about the novel's Meg. I'm going to safely assume that Meg is usually portrayed as being a blonde in the musical. I've never heard of a redheaded Meg. Thanks in advance for your participation in the poll, and for your replies. |

In the novel, Meg is a little thing with dark hair and eyes. I suppose they changed it for the musical to provide a contrast with the dark-haired Sarah Brightman.
I have no preference, really, but I'm used to the blonde Meg on stage so that's become how I picture her. |

I like it when Christine and Meg are "opposite" of eachother. Not necessairly platina blonde VS blackish brown... but a certain contrast.
Dull: http://www.geocities.com/elissacostume/london11.jpg Aaaah! : http://www.geocities.com/elissacostume/essenanne.jpg I think I'm so brainwashed by now that I prefer a blonde Meg, and I think the vanilla blonde wigs they use in West End is particularly nice: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v323/reiseaudun/designlair/degasrehuk2.jpg But really, as long as the person is good, I don't really notice the wig all that much. |

Yes, that's how I feel, except Christine blonde and Meg brunette. |

I don't have an actual preference for Meg's hair color.

To me, Christine is a brunette and Meg is a blonde. I even read the book, but that's still how I see them.

I always saw her as a blonde, and that's the way I perfer it. (I have read the book as well.) I think it makes the character better; it contrasts with a brunette Christine. It would be boring to have them both brunettes, or even black-haired. A red haired Meg? Ehh.

Not a redhaired Meg! But I can picture a redheaded Carlotta. |

I always pictured her with black hair in the book since they mention it being dark. Christine was blonde in the book anyway, so it contrasted, but I don't remember them socializing in Leroux too much anyway.
I don't mind the blonde in the play though. It works. |

I have to agree with both of you. |

I read somewhere that they made Meg blonde so that she stands out from the ballet chorus girls. She's supposed to be the most talented dancer in the chorus, but since all the others in the cast are professional dancers they needed something extra to make Meg stand out. So they made her blonde. |
