Which Sunday in the Park With George Recording?I know this really belongs in the Sondheim forum, but this one gets lots more traffic.
I'm going to get one of the two...which, in your opinion, is better? The original or revival cast?
........or if someone would happen to know somewhere online where I could get it for free, as I'm a poor college student, please PM me!

Don't kill me, but I prefer Daniel Evans' tone to Mandy's.....kinda more pleasant. Although they're obviously both brilliant.
Bernadette is a given. Nothing needs be said. 
Jenna Russell is absolutely unbelievable in the role(s). The recording is worth its weight in gold just to experience her. Gah! Love her.
Both recordings are fab. It's a toss-up! Snag the original for now and pick up the revival down the road when it will hopefully go down in price.

Me too. I reeallly enjoy the revival cast on the recording, but nothing beats the orchestrations and singing on the original.

Daniel has a GORGEOUS voice. I just feel Mandy hit the role of George on the head better.

Meh, Mandy is spectacular, but I find his Georges less likable. Maybe TOO apathetic? He does need to be in and of his own world, but Daniel maintained that while being somewhat warm at the same time.
my humble opinion.
I would have loved to have seen Mandy live...... *sigh*

OBC Mandy IS George. Daniel Evans is good but Mandy owns it.
Missy Errico and Raul Esparza were brillaint together but they never made a recodinbg of it damn it.

Not saying Georges needs to be a teddy bear - it just worked for me better when he was a bit more sympathetic at times. Just sayin'. MHO.
Damn those producers for not making an Esparza/Errico recording...
