Which production?

Ok, so I'd like a little help from all you wise and talented people. There are two shows coming up next year, one in March and one in April. Obviously I can't do them both, so I must choose.

One company that I have been working with is doing South Pacific. I don't really like the show, so I am not super excited about it. But I know that if I audition I will have a very good chance of getting cast as Nellie.

The other company is doing a production of Swing! I haven't worked with any of the people in that company before, but I would like to at some point. It's more of a dance show, but I know it would be fun.

My major issue is that the two companies are kind of feuding, and I hate being in the middle. And I don't want to miss out on a fun show, just because of that, and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings by doing something with the new company. But also, if I do Swing! it'll probably just be chorus, but then again if I don't get Nellie, I'll probably be in the chorus!

So what do y'all think?

Swing! or South Pacific

Try Swing! It's fun!

And it's MUCH better than "South Pathetic!"

I would rather be chorus in a show I enjoyed than playing the lead in a show I don't like that much...

As for theatre politics, that's pretty typical...They'll forget about it eventually. They always do!

Don't be afraid of feuds...trust me, I'm doing Lost In Yonkers and Wizard of Oz in two companies that have issues with each other...nobody cares, they're just glad I got the part, however, I do prefer the one I'm doing Wizard with, mainly because I know everybody and they're all so nice, but...you get the picture.

has anyone here done Swing! before?? I've tried to look up some info on it, but I can't find much. I know it's mostly a dance review set to the music of the greats from the 30's and 40's, but that's about it. Can anyone tell me more about it?
