Hey all!
I'm working on a Broadway compilation CD (just for the hell of it), and I'm including a few songs from "Miss Saigon". 'Last Night of the World' and 'I Still Believe' will, of course, come from the unbeatable talents of the Original London Cast...however, I'm at a crossroads with 'Bui-Doi'? The OLC version, to me, is a lot more dynamic, but the CSR seems to have more "soul"...anyone care to offer their opinions? (At the moment, I'm leaning toward the OLC)

I definitely prefer the CSR... Norm Lewis is absolutely incredable... you should also check him out on William Finn's "Infinite Joy" cd and, of course, "Side Show"...

I think John is Excellent on the OLC, even better than Chris, but i totally dislike John on the CSR.

defetnetly (sp?) CSR i never liked the song Bui Doi until i heard it on there. i personally don't like peter polycarpu's version.

yeah it is Hinton on the CSR. and that's who I'd go for. I mean he DID win a Tony for the role.

Desperate to find a clip (I lost) of Norm singing Bui Doi. It was in concert, not a US concert though,( London maybe?) accompanied by a young male choral group in a large venue, big audience. Norm is wearing a ligit colored sports coat. That's all I recall.
