Where to find funny monologues from plays?

I've been searching around the internet (Google, Yahoo, etc.) to find some humorous monologues from plays. I was wondering where I could find some that are appropriate for a 13 year old and can get the director laughing. Thanks so much. Very Happy

you almost never find good monologues when you're actively looking for them. you pretty much just have to read plays...lots of them Very Happy

Sadly, that is sorta how it works! You just hafta stumble across them! But finding monologues appropriate for children is tough, cuz finding good roles for children in most plays is rare. So I would probably start with buying a few monologue books from barnes and noble or amazon.com, or go to a library and see if they have a book of collected monologues for teens. Then go read the plays those monologues are from. Even if you don't like a particular monologue, read the play it's from anyway! Once you know the character and the situation better, you may appreciate it better. Plus, I can't tell you how often I've found a monologue in one of those books, read the play, and ended up picking a different monologue from the same play.

To sum up, the monologue books for teens should point you in the direction of good plays to read. I might not use a monologue from one of those books unless you have no other choice. Those monologues tend to be overdone.
