When To Get Headshot/ResumeAt what age and/or experience level should you get headshots and put together a resume? I've heard it advised not to waste money on headshots (unless you are a very serious performer and need them) while you're still young (child-teen) and therefore still growing and changing because you'll need to get new ones fairly often so the picture is accurate. But how long can you get away without having them? And when really should you have them?

If you're just doing small community shows, I don't think head shots are worth the investment.
When you start auditioning for regional and professional theatres, that's the time.
You should generally always have a resume.
My word is completely my own opinion, mind you.

yeah it really depends what your auditioning for. Most community theatres around me take head shots but if you don't have them they just snap a Polaroid and it's really no big deal. But it really depends on the place, and in anything beyond community theatre you should definitely have a good head shot (though you can actually make some pretty good home made headshots if you don't want to splurge). And as has been said, you should always have a resume
