What would you do...

...if Joe Schmoe made a Rent 2?

Just a thought. I'm not trying to start a rumor, I'm just saying. What would you do?
broadwaybabe1364

hmmmmm....It would be very interesting...but...I would most likely shot myself...just because I don't think the music in Rent 2 would be as good as the 1st Rent.
Yasmin

it wouldn't work and would also be so disrespectful to Jonathan Larson

plus, i think his family has the main control over the rights (correct me if Im wrong) and i HIGHLY doubt they'd ever allow it.

sequals to plays and musicals arent usually the best idea.
happyguava

This reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons - Homer starred in "Rent II - Condo Fever!"

"Where is the Rent? I must have the Rent!..."

I always thought there should be a sequel to Rent called Buy or Lease. It would start with Mimi's death (or ressurection) and chronicle the next 525,600 minutes in their lives as the characters grow old and get married, die, etc.

Lease

Lease is gooood. lol
Erm yeah- RENT 2 whoudl no WAY be able to measure up to RENT

sequels are always doomed- usually... save lotr and a few choice movies.... no musical sequel? nah- not my bag really.

Sorry. Yes, it was sarcasm. 90% of the things I say are.
Ulla Dance Again!

I hate to say it, but when I first saw this topic I thought of "What Would You Do?" from Cabaret.

Anyways, I really don't like the idea of a sequel to RENT. And luckily, I don't think it's ever going happen, as long as Larson's family is around.
beck

i would probably jump out a window. i dont care what anyone says, sequels are evil. if i wrote the dictionary...
Sequel; (noun); ARE YOU INSANNNNNNEEEEE!!!!!??

.. Mad
Angel_Fiend

it would be pretty morbid...i mean, most of the characters are getting closer and closer to death...mimi would go first...then probably roger from either suicide from losing another girlfriend or aids..then probably collins....it would be really sick...not to mention alot of people's fave character was angel, so why go see it?

i agree with beck, most sequels = evil!!!
