What to do...Hey guys. I am a tenor, and I am auditioning for the East Carolina University Musical Theatre undergrad program. They call for the typical 16-32 bars of two songs: 1) a ballad, and 2) an up-tempo selection.
I am having trouble finding songs to use for the sections though.
For the uptempo I was actually thinking of "My Unfortunate Erection" from Spelling Bee to lighten things up and show my range, but would this song be too vulgar and informal? I want a song that is fun and jumpy that allows me to broadcast energy in acting. As for the ballad, I was unsure. I want to do a beautiful piece to contrast that has not been overdone to death, and I'm having a bit of trouble finding something.
All in all, I am open for any suggestions. I realize that this topic has been done to death, but please bear with me. Thanks in advance!
