Hey guys!

My school, yes I'm still in high school but we're doing West Side Story for a production (a group of people actually started a huge rumour that we would do WSS in the hope that the teachers would hear it so they'd choose it, and they did! lol.)

I want to audition for a sharks girl, one with a speaking part preferably because I don't think I'm a strong enough actor for Anita and Maria's notes are out of my range.

I'm a mezzo-sop with dancing as my best ability, been dancing since i was 3, singing second and acting 3rd. What other sharks girls are there? I know of Rosalia and Consuela.

Also we have to sing a song from the show and a free choice. Any reccommendations? Is it bad to sing Maria's songs if I want to be a shark girl?

Are you allowed to just sing part of a song? Then you can sing the Shark girl part from 'I Feel Pretty'.

If not, I'd say 'America' because then it shows you can do Rosalia's part, as well as any of the Shark girls (even Anita).
