What song do you sing first?!

This is more out of curiosity than anything really, but I was just wondering what piece people normally start with when auditioning - uptempo/ballad? I'm going to an audition soon and have to prepare three pieces, and I'll most likely only get to sing two. I know everyone says start with the one you're most confident with, but it's a really angry, emotional ballad and I wonder if it's a bit full on for the audition panel to hear first! I think if it was me, I'd want to hear the fun, uptempo first! Anyway, I just wondered if people have any input on what they usually do?

Depends on what you are auditioning for I would say.

It really depends on the show. I would do whichever song is more suited for the role you are auditioning for first just in case they don't ask you to sing another song.

It's for college auditions...

I'm doing ballad then uptempo, cause I want to leave it with the "BAM"-ness of my u/t, but it depends on your songs, I think. I dunno. My VT and I discussed it and that's the decision we came to. Haha.

oh, well you should have said! haha.

I agree with ending on the most strong song. End on the one you think you do best and will really blow them away.
