What song do you sing best/enjoy singing most? This has probably been asked before, but I wanted to know what songs people either enjoy singing the most or what songs they sing best.. according to yourself or others...
I think that Think of Me is my best... but I love singing Carlotta's stuff.

In spite of desperate attempts... I'm not a high soprano. My upper notes are squeaked and strained and actually quote pointless. So the songs that suits me the best are the ones that might have one or two high notes, but they are generally low; like AIAOY or PONR.
"Think of Me" is lovely, but right where my voice breaks (from chest to head voice) so it doesn't sound too good. Alas...
I also love singing "I gave you my music", with all the dramatic forte a female voice can possess...

I have a soprano-ish falsetto. XD And I can easily hit all of Christine's high notes without cracking or forced effort.
I like singing all of Carlotta's stuff. But only when nobody's home.

I want us three to get together and sing our throats sore.
Glad to see you're obsessed with Sondheim, Operafantomet. Come to Trondheim this Saturday, it's a Sondheim matinee at Trøndelag Teater.
Did we ever meet in Oslo, btw? I forget too easily

Unfortunately, I cannot get my voice to sing. It's tone deaf even though I'm not. Go figure.
However, I love to dance to Masquerade. It's so much fun.

Haha.
Yeah I do that too, even though I don't really know the choreography. I do that with 'Shadowland' from The Lion King too.

lol... I love how everyone's response is ended with, "When nobody's home". Sounds all too familiar! I have to sing in my car. [/list]

We'll sing Prima Donna. I'll do Carlotta. XD

I love to sing Think Of Me. I sing it the best, and I've sung it so often that I can just fly through the song.

I love listening to the musical/operetta all the way through because I love getting chills from the power in the actors voices and emotion. But I also love singing even though I'm sure my voice doesn't sound great on the top notes. Anyway, I have larger than a 3 octave range so maybe they don't actually sound so bad. Anyway.

Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, though I sing it the way the movie has it... it was higher originally, though, wasn't it??

Either Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again or Point of No Return.

Oy, I've sung Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again so many times for so many things (auditions, talent shows, voice recitals) that I believe it's the one I sing best, but I love singing Prima Donna the most, especially when I'm trying to sing everyone's part at once. xDD that's always entertaining.

I would also have to say that Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again is my best song, but the funny thing about it is that I can only hit all the high notes if I am warmed up. I cannot go any farther than the second low part when I am not warmed up.

Notes II is a lot of fun to sing by yourself. Takes a fair bit of interrupting yourself.

"Prima Donna," "Music of the Night," "Phantom of the Opera," and "Angel of Music" are all ones I can sing relatively well.
For those wondering, I don't sing the E at the end of Phantom of the Opera.

"The Phantom of the Opera" is my favorite one to sing.

I would agree with you in that. I love the "theme" song for Phantom of the Opera. I really like singing it too.

I am a tenor, and my voice is mostly good on songs like ELABORATE LIVES from Aida and similar stuff. But the one song I manage to pull of quite well is ALL I ASK OF YOU (reprise)

I'm a mezzo; I don't have much trouble with high notes, even ones up in whistle register, but my voice sounds best in mezzo range. So "Wishing..." and "Point of No Return" are definitely the most flattering to my voice, although sometimes I like to sing Carlotta's part in "Prima Donna" just to show off.

I'm a mezzo-soprano who can sing into head voice well, but I can't hold a soprano note for too long or it'll crack. I can also go fairly low...
What song do you think would fit me? I just like to collect songs to practice with.

Um, if you're looking for something chesty, Phantom probably isn't the show to be looking in.

Wishing You Were somewhere Here Again is my best song, period.
