What should I Audition For? Babette or Madame?

I'm auditioning for BatB in early december and I was wondering which role I should audition for: Babette or Madame De La Grande Bouche? My range is A3-B5 but half the time I can hit C6. My voice has a light, young (I'm 14) soprano quality to it. However I'm short so that may be a problem for Babette.

Also, any ideas for audtion songs? Thanks!
Brigantine

is this for a school show?
Neither role is very challenging vocally, Babette only has one solo line in Human Again ("alert the dust pail and broom"), Mme. only has a verse in Human again, and it has about an octave range.
Babette may have a bit more stage time/lines, and of course gets to have fun being flirty! Wink She will probably be expected to dance well. Mme. obviously doesn't move too much. I don't think height is an issue for Babette; she can be cute and flirty no matter what height she is.
If you're not going for Belle or Mrs. Potts, then I'd say any song that is fun and lively and shows off your voice would work. (just stay away from obvious taboos, there's lots of info about that here on MdN... things like: no Wicked, nothing that's on Broadway right now, and possibly even nothing that's been on Broadway in the last two years...?) Just make sure it's age/style appropriate; like; as a 14 year old, don't go in singing "Send in the Clowns" or "Memory" or something. Wink
break a leg!

Thanks Brigantine! (and it's a youth theatre production i'm auditioning for)
I'm still not entirely sure yet, but I'm really considering Babette, jsut because she sounds fun.

Agree with Brigantine about the song choices and stuff...

I'd go for Babette. She seems more fun.
