"The Real Inspector Hound" with an all male cast is HALARIOUS!

broadway_baby416

I'm about to go see I Hate Hamlet at my school in just a little bit, it might be my new favorite! Wink Except that the cast is kind of so-so...I mean, there are six characters and the guy who plays the lead wants to quit so we'll see! Smile
star2ballie

Our Town
Arsenic & Old Lace
Taming of the Shrew
The Skin of Our Teeth...

tons more.
The Drama Queen

I think its lesser known but one of our local theatres did "Lie, Cheat, and Genuflect" and remember it being very funny.
LesWickedPhantom

Rumors... I haven't seen it, but I read it when it was rumored that my school would be doing it... it had me laughing at loud.
Blithe Spirit... school did it in my freshman year (I was on Tech). I love it, even though no one else in the cast/crew did.
Annie

LOADS, but of just the more recent ones:

Doubt
'night, mother
A Day in the Death of Joe Egg
The Rimers of Eldritch
Jitters (yay! I was in it last month. Spectacularly fun)
Born Yesterday
...etc....etc....etc

Very Happy I'm a junkie.
dantheman

I haven't seen many, but of the ones I've seen, it has to be the one my school's doing now. All My Sons. It's so good.
phantomphan85

Blithe Spirit, I had the best time EVER doing that play!
Etoile

'The Glass Menagerie' and 'Cyrano de Bergerac' are tied as my all time favorites. I also like 'Romeo and Juliet', but mainly for the humor. 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is good too. I haven't read any other Shakespeare plays but I'm sure I'd like all of them.

Right now my school is doing 'You Can't Take it With You' and it's hilarious. I auditioned for Penny because I think she's the funniest.
matonad44

The Crucible
The Importance of Being Earnest
The Tale of the Allergist's Wife
dramaqueen220222

Anything written by Tennesee Williams. I love the movies they made of his plays, too, they're always so well-done.
I also like Variations of the Death of Trotsky, A Doll's House, The Laramie Project, Doubt, and The Three Sisters.
Ulla Dance Again!

One of my all time favorites is Glengarry Glenross by David Mamet.

I LOVE "You Can't Take it With You"! It's brilliant. The 3rd years in my program (Professional Theatre Cegep) put it on last year when I was in first year. It was so fantastic. I hope you have fun doing it!
Here are some pics from their production. I was on the set crew.

I think only Streecar has been made into a strong film. the rest of Willaims plays were less thaan good on the big screen. Cat on a Hot Tin Roof was terrible..the censors madet hem cut so much, plus Williams didnt write the screenplay! Liz Taylor's Maggie was totally wrong.

they actaully did a made for cable version in the 1980s thats wonderful. It uses Willams 1974 rewrite, and has a perfect cast led by Jessica Lange.Tommy Lee Jones and Rip Torn.
MademoiselleMusicals

Death of A Salesman
The Importance of Being Earnest
The Ladykillers
Romeo and Juliet - gotta have a bit of Shakey right?

the photos are awesome. Looks like it was a great production. Personally, I strongly dislike "You Can't Take It With You"... my school's doing it right now... high school, mind you... and its torturous. I'm sure when its done right, it can be hysterically brilliant, but we aren't so... its not. I'm playing Olga...
