try picking another G and S or another operetta

I got the Major General by singing "If You're Anxious for to Shine" from Patience though you'll have a hell of a time finding sheet music for it. The song is almost perfect for a baritone...for a bass, "A More Humane Mikado" from Mikado looks like it'd work.

i would just say think more operaish than musical theatre (considering its an operetta) Anything BASS/Baritione from G+S would be good... just thinking about that role, The low notes is what u want them to know what u can do... i know i said maybe not a musical.. but maybe u could try "nothing like a dame" from south pacific...

I just barely finished this show! I love this show! Well it depends on who you are planning on getting if you are Bass/Baritone I would go for the General. Hw don't go to low. The Sargeant goes little above bass but he goes very low also. Also get an ?opperettic? like song.
