What do you like most about LSOH?

Let's liven this forum up a little! What do you like most about Little Shop? It could be a song, a character, Audrey II, a specific line or lyric...anything!

I'll go first: I love Audrey and Seymour. I just feel so much for them throughout the entire show. And the whole concept of a plant taking over the world? Too cool!

Ideas?
Salome

I love B horror films sao I love how well it translated to the musical stage.

i also love mushnick..one of the best comic villians in musical theare.
norayouadora

I love the song "Suddenly Seymour." I dunno if it's my favorite in the show, but something about it is just so cute. It gives me warm fuzzies, hehe. Very Happy

Also love the character of Audrey and want to play her someday.

From a technocal point of view, I like that Little Shop only really has one main setting. It makes it easy for the set designer and tech crew.

I also love that there are a lot of strong character roles and that the cast isn't very big.

Who can say no to this little guy?
Sweeney Hyde

I do have to say that that film was cast brilliantly.
norayouadora

^For sure! I now have a strong urge to go watch the movie. Not sure if I'll be able to dig it up out of our vast pile of VHS tapes, but I can try... Hm... I haven't seen the movie in forever. Very Happy

I love the character Audrey, especially during "Suddenly, Seymour." I don't know why but that songs always gets me. I guess because it's Audrey's turning point where she realizes that she does have somebody who's there for her after all. I would love to play her someday...#4 on my dream roles : )

Agree 100%, Mushnik is brilliant

I love Audrey 2's voice in the film, especially in Mean Green Mother from Outer-space

I will see it on stage soon!
Dennis Galahad

I really like Orin. xD I know I shouldn't because he's a laughing-gas addict and a girlfriend-beater who's just trouble for Seymour, but I like him a lot! "Dentist" makes me giggle everytime I listen.

The film was utterly great until the last ten minutes. Then I wanted to smack some heads.
phantomphan85

Yes, I like Orin too. When I did it our Orin was brilliant and almost stole the show.
Not Dead Yet

I like the capitalist theme in the message of the story.. and the ending is just cool, it's not your typical everyone-ends-up-jolly ending.
lottielou22

I just love the whole show....
I've only seen the movie but it is SO great... Levi Stubbs was such a fabulous Audrey II and Pappy, how can you NOT crush on Rick Moranis??!!!?
"Mister, when you from Skid Row, ain't no such thing." (best line.)
I also loved Crystal, Ronette, and Chiffon's outfits.
Alexia Dark

Just the songs Suddenly Seymour and Skid Row. The whole thing kind of makes me sad. This is rather funny, considering my favorite musicals almost always have someone die, or will never be seen again (Les Miz, Wicked, POTO), and I'm a fan of the incredibly dramatic. Yet the prospect of every main character getting eaten by a giant plant and going on to potentially take over the world makes me feel unresolved.
Jeronimus

I'm not sure, I just like it a lot. The idea of a talking plant that eats people is so damn crazy that it's cool again, and whereas it's horror...ible as well, it's mostly funny though. The songs are too catchy not to like (some more, some less). For some reason I still want to (one day some day) play in/put on this show somewhere... if only I had some experience in musical theatre or I knew some place where I could get involved or... *sigh*

But anyway I like LSoH a lot.

Yeah.

Btw, this subforum seems so dead...
Vice

^____^ ORIN. (And Audrey II of course.) I love how strange the concept is as well.
