Nothing from Les mis, Wicked, or Rent.

Oh erm...

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick...I meant what term is that. Because I don't know what they all mean.

Like am I alto, mezzo etc.. ??
SanityIsLost

ok... A soprano sings high notes well. If you are more comfortable singing in your head voice and the higher notes you are probably a soprano. A mezzo prefers the middle notes. An alto prefers the lower notes. I think I have that right.

so ~I could say im mezzo-soprano?? Because I can sing comfortabley in my chest voice but I do break alot. but I can't do low at all. xx
broadway_baby416

you sound like a mezzo to me...because a mezzo is most comfortable in middle notes, but also sounds good on some low and high notes...this is mostly just based on the songs you said you sing well, though. you might want to try some rodgers and hammerstein songs, in addition to just the sound of music, because you can really make those your own and they'd probably be comfortable with your range.

Go to a piano. Play middle C. Match pitch with it. Play up from middle C for as many notes as you can match pitch with. Then, play down from middle C for as many notes as you can match pitch with.
If your range is rougly: Middle C to A, two octaves above,
Congratulations, you are: a soprano.

If your range is rougly: A below middle C to F one and a half octaves above middle C
Congratulations, you are: a mezzo-soprano

If your range is roughly: F below middle C to E one octave above it,
Congratulations, you are: a contralto (or alto, if you so perfer).

If your range is roughly: none of the above,
Congratulations, you are: an extraterrestrial, a man, or not testing yourself properly.

If your range is rougly: all of the above,
Congratulations, you are: flexible. You may sing whatever range you feel is your strongest and most comfortable.
