we will rock you, scaramouche advice.

I'm auditioning for scaramouche in a few weeks, and would really like some advice on things like accents, movement e.t.c

so if anyones played her before, or seen a particularly good performance, could you share it please Very Happy?

we've been told to use either
bohemian rhapsody
killer queen
somebody to love
or crazy little thing called love

as audition songs. so, i think i'll be doing somebody to love, if theres anything you know from that song that works well then I'd really appreciate it Very Happy

thanks

I've seen the show a few times so i'll try and help!

Scaramouche is often played in a london cockney accent in the professional production. (im going by the London show, thats the only one i've seen) But i have seen her be played with a northern accent as well. To be honest, i didnt think the northern accent was as good as the london accent. But you play it in whatever accent you feel comfortable with. Be individual!

She is quite sarcastic in the show and gets some great one liners. Shes quite a tough cookie and can look after herself but inside she is quite vulnerable. that comes out later in the show Do you have any lines from the show to learn for auditions?

Somebody to love is the best song to sing for Scaramouche

Now my mind is completely blank! Your ver lucky to have the chance to audition for wwry, i'd love to!

If you need any more help, let me know and ill try and help you!xx
Scaramouche

Scara is kind of a double side person. She arms herself with sarcasm so nobody can hurt her keep that in mind during your audition.
For the rest of it, she's very outspoken almost like a comedian. give it your own little swing. Make the character your own. Nothing is as bad as an exact copy of the original character.

When I saw it, Scaramouche had a London accent (not really a cockney though - more like a sarcastic, stroppy teenager).

I would agree that Somebody To Love is a good audition song. Do it with plenty of belt and soul!
