Voice Problems AgainI have an audition coming up again, and I once again have voice problems.
Yes, I've quit smoking, yet it feels like I have a cold or something, only the voice issues are the only symptom of said cold that i am facing.
If I push really hard I can get a semi-decent sound out. Should I be practicing and pushing to get that sound or resting it.
So far I've been practicing sort of half assed and my voice seems to be improving as I practice, it's almost back to normal. But it's still nowhere near audition ready.

Don't force.
Don't speak to anybody. Write everything down on a pad of paper.
Lots of water, juice.
Sleep.
More sleep.
Gently warmup your voice when you think you're getting better. Scales only.

DON'T PUSH IT.
Seriously. I had an audition and a few days before it, I hardly had a voice at all. I drank a lot of water and hot tea with lemon, and didn't talk for two or three days. Once I went to speak, my voice was back to normal. Even then...be careful with singing. I wouldn't do any major singing until the day of the audition, and even then...only gently warm up your voice.
