Virtual Variety Show...has this ever been done?I'd like to do a virtual variety show with music from "Peter Pan", "Guys and Dolls", "Gypsy", "Fiddler on the Roof", "Oklahoma!", "Carousel", "South Pacific", "Grease", "My Fair Lady", "Cinderella", "The Fantasticks", "Carnival", "Bye, Bye Birdie", "The Music Man", "Annie", and "Into The Woods".
My song choices would be as follows:
"Peter Pan"--"Tender Sheperd", "I've Gotta Crow", "Never-Never Land", "I'm Flying", "Wendy", "I Won't Grow Up", "Ugg-a-Wugg", and "Captain Hook's Waltz". Needed would be Wendy, John, Michael, Mrs. Darling, Peter Pan, the Lost Boys, Tiger Lily, some Indians, Captain Hook, Smee, and some pirates.
"Guys and Dolls"--"Fugue For Tinhorns", "Follow the Fold", "The Oldest Established", "Adelaide's Lament", "Guys and Dolls", "If I Were A Bell", "I've Never Been In Love Before", "Take Back Your Mink", "Luck Be A Lady", and "Sit Down You're Rockin' The Boat". Needed would be Nicely-Nicely Johnson, Benny Southstreet, Rusty Charlie, Sarah Brown, Arvide Abernathy, the Mission Band, Nathan Detroit, Miss Adelaide, Sky Masterson, and the Hot Box Girls.
"Gypsy"--"Let Me Entertain You", "Some People", "Small World", "Baby June and Her Newsboys", "Mr. Goldstone", "Little Lamb", "You'll Never Get Away From Me", "Dainty June and Her Farm Boys", "If Momma Was Married", "All I Need Is The Girl", "Everything's Coming Up Roses", "Together Wherever We Go", and "You've Gotta Get A Gimmick". Needed would be Baby June, Baby Louise, Mama Rose, Rose's Papa (for one spoken line), Herbie, some Newsboys, Dainty June, the older boys, Louise, Tulsa (who would be among the "older boys"), Tessie Tura, Mazeppa, and Electra.
"Fiddler on the Roof"--"Tradition", "Matchmaker", "If I Were A Rich Man", "Sabbath Prayer", "To Life", "Miracle of Miracles", "Sunrise, Sunset", "Far From the Home I Love", and "Anatevka". Needed would be the townspeople, Tzeitel, Hodel, Chava, Tevye, Golde, Lazar Wolf, Motel, and Perchik. There are some other solos in "Anatevka", but those will be townspeople.
"Oklahoma!"--"Oh What A Beautiful Mornin'", "Surrey With The Fringe On Top", "Kansas City", "I Cain't Say No", "Many A New Day", "People Will Say We're In Love", "Poor Jud Is Dead", and "The Farmer and the Cowman". Needed would be Curly, Laurey, Aunt Eller, Will Parker, the men, Ado Annie, the women, and Jud Fry.
"Carousel"--"If I Loved You", "June Is Bustin' Out All Over", "When the Children Are Asleep", and "You'll Never Walk Alone". Needed would be Julie, Billy, a chorus, Enoch Snow, Carrie Pipperidge, and Cousin Nettie.
"South Pacific"--"Dites-Moi", "Some Enchanted Evening", "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair", "Younger Than Springtime", and "Honey Bun". Needed would be Ngana, Jerome, Emile, Nellie, the nurses, Lt. Cable, and Luther Billis.
"Grease"--"Summer Nights", "Greased Lightnin'", "Beauty School Droput", and "We Go Together". Needed would be Danny, Sandy, the guys, the Pink Ladies, and the Teen Angel.
"My Fair Lady"--"Wouldn't It Be Loverly", "With A Little Bit Of Luck", "The Rain In Spain", "I Could Have Danced All Night", "On The Street Where You Live", "You Did It", "Get Me To The Church On Time", and "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face". Needed would be Eliza, the Cockney Quartet, Alfie Doolittle, Harry, Jamie, Higgins, Pickering, Mrs. Pearce, some maids and manservants, and Freddy.
"Cinderella"--"In My Own Little Corner", "Impossible/It's Possible", "Ten Minutes Ago", "Stepsister's Lament", "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful", and "A Lovely Night". Needed would be Cinderella, the Fairy Godmother, the Prince, the Stepsisters, and the Stepmother.
"The Fantasticks"--"Try to Remember", "Much More", "Metaphor", "Never Say No", "Soon It's Gonna Rain", "This (insert name of fruit here) Is Too Ripe", and "Round and Round". Needed would be El Gallo, Luisa, Matt, the parents (either two mothers or two fathers), Henry, and Mortimer.
"Carnival"--"Direct From Vienna", "A Very Nice Man", "I've Got To Find A Reason", "Mira", "Sword, Rose, and Cape", "Love Makes The World Go Round", "Yum Ticky", "The Rich", "Beautiful Candy", "Cirque de Paris", "I Hate Him", "Always, Always You", and "She's My Love". Needed would be Rosalie, Schlegl, chorus, Lili, Paul, Marco, some puppets, and Jacquot.
"Bye, Bye Birdie"--"How Lovely To Be A Woman", "The Telephone Hour", "Put On A Happy Face", "Honestly Sincere", "Kids", "One Last Kiss", and "Rosie". Needed would be Kim, some teenagers, Albert, Conrad Birdie, Rosie, Harry, Doris, and Mrs. Peterson.
"The Music Man"--"Good-Night My Someone", "76 Trombones", "Marian the Librarian", "The Wells Fargo Wagon", "Lida Rose/Will I Ever Tell You", "Gary, Indiana", and "Till There Was You". Needed would be Marian, Amaryllis, Harold, a chorus, a quartet, and Winthrop.
"Annie"--"Maybe", "It's The Hard-Knock Life", "Tomorrow", "Little Girls", "N.Y.C.", "Easy Street", "You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile", and "I Don't Need Anything But You". Needed would be Annie, the orphans, Rooster, Lily, Miss Hannigan, Bert Healy, the Radio family, Grace, the Star to Be, a chorus, and Warbucks.
"Into The Woods"--"I Know Things Now", "A Very Nice Prince", "Rirst Midnight", "Giants In The Sky", "Agony", "It Takes Two", "Ever After", "I'm So Happy", "Any Moment", "Moments In The Woods", "Your Fault", "Last Midnight", and "No One Is Alone". Needed would be Littel Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, The Baker's Wife, a chorus (or whatever), Jack, Cinderella's Prince, Rapunzel's Prince, the Baker, and the Witch.
