Virtual Casting???

Question:
Has there already been a virtual audition for this show?
If not does anyone want to do one?
If so does anyone want to be the caster for the audition?
If so will you hold a virtual audition, please?

Virtual auditions are virtually extinct now. They got to be more a pain in the butt than anything.

I have never even heard of a virtual audition and it already strikes me as ridiculous. lol. Someone explain the concept to me please. Mr. Green

It's usually ends up like a forum cast. Sometimes there are actual recorded (or typed) auditions. Other times, it's put to a vote of forum-goers. In the end, it's just something to stick in your signature.

Oh, okay. So everyone with like current role in their signature is talking about online?!? The whole idea is really stupid anyway. Just something to pass time I guess. Hey, I say whatever floats your boat. lol. When I heard about this, my boat just did a Titanic. lol.

I was more thinking about people recording them singing then casting the show on vocals. Wink

I think it's because wicked doesn't have a very large fan base. Unlike for example cats. You are 150% right lonewanderer it's a rubbish idea of mine.

Bleh. You people are party poopers. Virtual casting is amazing, it's pretty much why I'm on musicals.net.

People say virtual families are stupid too, London_Mungo, and you are my son-in-law, lol.

And yeah, Wicked definatly has a HUGE fan base. I know way more Wicked fans then Cats fans. But then again, no Wicked fan I know is as devoted as a single Cats fan I know.

I think he meant that Wicked doesn't have as strong/devoted a fanbase as CATS or some other shows do. Laughing

As for vitrual castings, you guys just got the short end of the stick because Wicked's cast is so small. -points to 37 character cast list on the CATS board-

The only reason I even went on the Cats vitual casting is because I'm so bored and have nothing to do with my time lol

I voted No, because the "Virtual Show" idea has been loooong gone. It was lame then, and it's lamer now because the only people who do it are the Cats fans.

Hmm well the casting on the cats forum has nothing to do with audtioning and more to do with how other posters on the forum see you as related to how your personality is reflected in your posting style. In other other words do you come across as dark, mysterious, sage, bubbly,or michivious?

What is the point? Sounds like yet another thing that people with too much time on their hands do on the internet to bolster their own sense of self..

And about Wicked not having a big fan base - think of musicals like Sound of Music or Les Miserables. In terms of a comparison, they have a huge and
varied fan base. The majority of Wicked fans are teenage girls (and don't post saying "I'm a boy and I like Wicked" or "My mum is 40 and she doesn't object when I play Wicked in the car" - I just said majority).

That made me smile. Wicked's fan base usually does not.

That's because The Sound of Music has been around Decades, is a film and is shown on telly all the time and is thus forced into the public eye.

Les Mis has been around over 20 years, and the Book even longer. I expect that when Wicked has been around over 20 years and been produced in like 50 countries, it will have a similar fan base to Les Mis.

Wicked, is a relativly NEW musical, and so is still in the infancy of building it's fan base.

I really don't think that Wicked will have the same sort of fan base as those classics in 20 years. Even when they were new on the block, they still appealed to LOTS of people.

You guys are all so critical of CATS. Wicked really isn't that great a show. It's all popular hype.
