I really wanted to see the London revival cast live, but never got round to it.

Those were fantastic! Thanks for sharing. I especially liked the character of Bet- SO YOUNG! It creeped me out- even though I knew that she was a child prostitute I am use to seeing her played by older actresses. I think this was much better- it added that darker element to the up-beat songs... I'd actually read when I was researching for another show that child prostitution was a big business because people believed that sleeping with a child could get rid of sexually transmitted diseases.

But was it just me- or did Bet's young age make Nancy look like an oppressor- just because she is so much older than Bet and allowing it to happen? I guess since Nancy had been brought up that way as well, it doesn't seem out of the ordinary to her until she sees what they do to Oliver later... Still it might have been a little better if Nancy had also been younger. This Nancy (Sally Dexter, yes?) has a great presence though. I wish I could have seen her do the rest of the show.

music is my life!!!

bet is ridiculously young compared to how i usually imagine her... hated her voice.... loved everything else...
