[Megan the Phantom Girlie]

Has anyone on this board seen this film yet? I thought the Phantom parallels (which are intentional- I've looked it up) were actually very interesting. Personally, I think it makes a better Phantom-esque movie than Joel Schumacher managed to create.

The Shadow Gallery, for one, was much more like the lair in Leroux's novel than the musical was.

If you've ever seen the animated Phantom, you'll probably understand why I thought of the scene when Christine tries to escape and ends right in the lair again when Evey escapes from prison and discovers V orchestrates the whole thing. In the same vein, Evey's imprisonment is a brutal and prolonged version of the several hours Erik leaves Christine locked in her room.

Mind you, though, Christine keeps her hair.
