Urinetown Characters questionI am 19 and can pass for up to 25, so I've narrowed down the possible roles to Bobby Strong, Billy Boy Bill, Tiny Tom, and chorus.
I am pretty heavy at the moment (looking to lose a lot of weight this year) and can dance OK; not necessarily well. Does the show have a lot of dancing and would my bodytype work for Bobby Strong? I'm a pretty strong tenor and can hit up to a high C if I'm warmed up enough.
So excited to audition for this tomorrow.

Chorus is pretty dance heavy. Go for Bobby. Break limbs.

I love this musical so much. But yeah, Bobby doesn't dance, he's got some great belty-kinda parts.

So any ideas for good tenor 'belt' songs? For 'belt' and to show my range, I've at first chosen some Audrey II stuff from Little Shop since the plant goes up into the tenor range a lot but I'd rather have something that's purely in that range and not considered bass.

Go with "Sensation" from Tommy. It's the exact same range, used in the exact same way.

I'm Free from Footloose is good too.
Same idea, same range, same intentions.

Well, I'm auditioning with "Feed Me" from Little Shop, seeing as all of the other pieces are great but really don't show me off that much and let's face it, it's an awesome piece.
Hard as hell on my cords though, I'll have to take it easy with the belting.
I am so nervous.

That's not a Bobby Strong song at all. If you audition with that song and the director casts you as Bobby, something is seriously wrong.
No offense.

Thanks for telling me; auditions are actually tomorrow now since they've been moved so I've got more time to stew.
"Anthem" from Chess?
