Uptempo audition song for 13 year oldHey-
I need an uptempo audition song, and most songs that are reccommended by everyone else are for adults... minor detail... I'm only 13, so I can't pull off a lot of those "mature-er" songs.
If you guys have any ideas, I'd appreciate it.

What are you auditioning for? It usually helps to have the show in mind when searching for a good song.

I'm auditioning for Seussical the musical.
Basically the only roles I could get would be chorus.

Actually, the director said that she wants MY age girls to be bird girls, which I think sounds kind of young, but I'll take what I can get...lol

Oh... well then, I'll suggest the same song that I tell everyone (at least, for this musical): "Everything's Comin' Up Roses" from Gypsy. Even though it's quite a mature show, the song itself is basically about persuading someone (in this case, Rose's daughter) to have confidence and perform on stage. It's uptempo and really fun to sing, and it doesn't go very high, which is great for younger voices!
