Hey guys! I made it to the second round of Footloose auditions for my theatre camp, and I need to find 16 bars of an "upbeat, contemporary, pop-style song" (from about the '70's until now, I'm assuming) and a "slow, pretty ballad" to sing.

For my ballad, I might sing "There's a Fine, Fine Line" from Avenue Q. However, I am drawing a blank for my upbeat song. I've considered singing a Nicole Atkins song, if I can find sheet music for it. The audition is on June 9th, and for the next two weeks I'll be studying for and taking my finals, so help would be amazing!

I am 14 (15 in July) and an alto/mezzo. Thanks in advance!

Go to wikipedia, type in rock musicals and a whole load of suitable shows will come up. Look at Chess, Saturday Night Fever, Flashdance, Tommy, We will rock you, etc...there are loads more. If you don't have to sing from a musical I suggest you check out some uptempo Donna Summer.

I would avoid Avenue Q, overdone and not suitable really for Footloose.
