1. I don't believe it is written in the script for Zaneeta and Tommy to kiss, but I have seen productions where they kiss briefly (more like a peck) in numbers like Marian The Librarian.
2. Hmm, I am not sure.

Zaneeta's part is about the same...however, I am pretty sure that they are supposed to have a little peck...but that's it.

Her part is rather small either way. They might give you a few lines or solos that would otherwise be spoken/sung by random townspeople. I know our Zaneeta got a solo in "Wells Fargo Wagon". I don't remember her having to kiss our Tommy, though.

The kissing, I think, a lot of the times is left up to the director. In Once Upon a Mattress, the script calls for Dauntless to kiss Fred, but we figured Fred would be the assertive one, so we switched it up.

I played Zaneeta a while back and no, it is not written in the script for Tommy and Zaneeta to kiss in the play just to clear that up. As far as lines go, she only has about 10-15 but she is also one of the principal dancers and has one line in "Wells Fargo Wagon."
