two different auditionsOkay, i want to try out for The Sound of Music and then if I don't get that I am going to try out for bare. Bare is pretty controversial and I'm only fifteen--almost sixteen and i really want to be in one of these. I just need audition songs...
I know lots of songs such as:
"Come to Your Senses" from tick, tick...BOOM!
"Astonishing" from Little Women
"Climbing Uphill" from The Last Five Years
"Someone Else's Story" from Chess
"When There Was Me and You" from HSM
"What Did I Ever See in Him" from Bye Bye Birdie
- all songs from My Fair Lady
"Nothing" from A Chorus Line
"I'm Not At All In Love" from the Pajama Game
but, none of these songs really seem appropriate. I've already read all the suggestions for The Sound of Music auditions on this sight (believe me i have an awful headache now) and i could find nothing on Bare-which is a pop opera. So I'm fifteen, 5'5", brunette, and am an alto/mezzo. Please suggest anything....I will read them all (and probably get another headache in the process, but it will totally worth it)

maybe something from my fair lady. it'd all depend on what role you'd be going for though...

wellI've pretty much decided to sing "the Simple Joys of Maidenhood" from Camelot for the Sound of Music audition, but I'm still not sure what to prepare for the bare auditions...although I have promised myself that if I can not find a better song in time I'll sing Gabriella's solo from HSM =[

You could possibly do something from Spring Awakening, I don't know if it would bother the people you're auditioning for that it's so new, but it'd be appropriate for bare.

What about...what if i sang the main part of "Somebody to Love" from We Will Rock You? Would that sound weird, especially without the background?
- I thought about singing something from Spring Awakening but was afraid it would be overused....
