I just saw a performance of Turandot from Teatro Lirico D' Europa's tour.

My God, it was amazing. The sets and the costumes were fantastic, and the singers were phenomenal; Roumen Doikov (Calaf) had an amazing operatic tenor voice. His version of "Nessun dorma" was one of the best I've ever heard. Olga Chernisheva (Turandot) had a magnetic stage presence. She had such a strong, powerful voice...she got a well-deserved standing ovation. And Elena Razgulyieva was wonderful as Liu.

The other performers were amazing as well.

If this tour goes through your area, buy the f**king tickets!

I have only seen it in the UK but the one I saw [years ago so I don't remember details of who was in it] was wonderful!!

Ah, and the tour is here this week. But I just gave up a chance to see it because I'm going to The Leading Men II concert at Birdland tomorrow night.

I love Turandot and have been dying to see it live, too.
