Tulsa?

Is Tulsa a large role? Does he sing anything more than "All I Need is the Girl?" Thanks.

It's a bigger role than the other kids being that he has a solo, but thats his only one. He has to be a really strong dancer, including tap. He also sings in the group numbers Baby June and her Farmboys, Mr. Goldstone, and Broadway. I think he's a great part.

Thanks

Thanks very much. You've been very helpful. Anyone else with anything to say?

He also has to be a stronger actor than the rest of the boys, since he has that scene with Louise that leads up to "All I Need Is The Girl". I wouldn't say he necessarily has to be a true "triple threat", but he needs to be at least a competent actor. And, of course, a very strong singer and dancer who can work with an ensemble as well as solo.

For a young man (late teens/early 20's) it is easily the best role in the show.

Tulsa

I have recently just got the part of Tulsa.
Iam over the moon about it. But wondering anyone has any tips on the character himself. Maybe different views/styles could maybe help me?

I have an audition for Gypsy on Monday (vocal) and Tuesday (dance). My weakness is dance, though. I'm taking jazz, and I've done basic choreo for a lot of musicals. Do you think I could still pull off Tulsa? How much intese dance is required? I know obviously the tap at the end of "All I Need..." but I think I could do that with some intense practice.
