Just a few hours ago I found out that the audition I have been waiting a life time on has been cancelled! Yes thats right the Feb. auditions for Cats at my local community theater have been cancelled and have been replaced with A Chorus Line. The reason why you ask? A touring show called and begged the theater not to do it because their tour would be coming into town around the same time. Now what baffles me is that the only touring show I can think of is Troika Tour and according to their schedule they are coming no where near where I live (around Sarasota/Bradenton FL area) in the months of Febuary through April in which the local production would have been auditioned, rehearsed and performed. They aren't even coming to FL in those months!
If I am wrong please tell me where I went wrong and if there is another tour coming to my area or around there. Or if the Troika Tour are just being picky and such about being crowded.

They do that for any production when a tour is coming to the general area. The owner of the theater I used to community theater with had already purchased the rights to do Superstar, then had to change the production right before auds because the tour was coming through. Yeah, it sucks, but there's not really anything you can do about it.
