tour cast changesNew girl alert: Melissa Rae Mahon, of Producers (the movie and the show) and 42nd St, is replacing Angel Reda as Go to Hell Kitty on the tour.She's hot, she can sing, she has a rockin' body. Kev, you'd adore her. Big big welcome. She starts Sunday |

I guess I'll see her in Newark.
Any news on Billy Flynn because Tom Wopat is doing the gig at Feinsteins and Gregory Harrison supposedly is only through Raleigh. |
||||

found this recent article about Melissa
http://www.andovertownsman.com/news/20051124/AE_001.html looks like she'll be with the tour only until April when she goes and performs in Mame at the Kennedy Center with Christine Baranski |

Robin Givens was just on The View and Star Jones said that Robin will be on Broadway thru Feb. 14 and then she is joining the national tour for 3 weeks. Does anyone know who will be Roxie on Broadway during that time? Is Robin coming back to the show after the national tour? Telecharge.com doesn't have any info.

February 14?
I thought she was in it until March. here's an article that says March 26 http://www.theatermania.com/content/news.cfm/story/6634 |
||||
| franelWB |
I remember reading March 26 as well, but I taped her segment on The View and listened to it again just to double check and Feb. 14 is what Star said. Maybe she is returning to the Broadway company after her 3 weeks in the tour? I don't remember reading anything about that online, but Robin didn't correct her. Interesting...!

Interesting that starting Feb 15 for three weeks the tour is in Detroit.
Maybe sales have been slow so this is an attempt to get some people in the seats. Some Robin Givens fans are going to be very unhappy if it turns out that she is leaving the Broadway show so soon. I have a flyer right here in my office cubicle advertising Robin Givens and John O'Hurley until March 26. And the Telecharge website still hasn't changed if this is true! |
||||

Yeah, it is interesting they have advertised her so much on Broadway and then put her into the tour, happening so soon, without really any press/internet stories. Someone on another board posted this for the Chicago stop in Detroit and it has Robin's name on it.
http://www.nederlanderdetroit.com/fisher/index.htm Any ideas if Belle Calaway would be Roxie in NY? Is she still a standy? |

I wish she would play the NJPAC stop!

Michelle DeJean will be switching with Robin Givens for the 3 weeks.
Michelle will rejoin the tour in Sacramento. No sure whether Robin Givens rejoins the Broadway company after Detroit but given the advertising including the Times Square billboard she most likely will. |

Thanks for the info! |

ByeByeBirdie, bite your tongue. I do NOT want to see Givens in Newark. No way, no how. If you can get to Newark to see her, you can go the extra 20 minutes to NYC. I want DeJean in Newark. (Im seeing it on my bday, so Im being especially bitchy lol) |

franel...
Belle is no longer in the NYC company. and we were put under the impression that she's gone for good. |

Thanks Kev for the update on Belle.

Current tour cast, as of this week in Delaware (I feel like these people change as much as the Bway cast)
Michelle DeJean Terra MacLeod Obba Babatunde Kevin Carolan Carol Woods R. Bean Fred: Kevin Neil McCready Fogarty/ Judge: David Kent Liz: Nicole Bridgewater Annie: Ivy Fox June: Theresa Combe Hunyak: Jillana Laufer Mona: Jill Nicklaus Kitty: Melissa Rae Mahon Harry: Charlie Brumbly Doctor/ Martin Harrison: Erich McMillan-McCall Aaron: David Bushman Bailiff/ Court Clerk: John Carroll Jury: Christopher Caballero U/S Roxie: Nicole, Tonya Wathen Velma: Nicole, Ivy Billy: Kevin, Erich Amos: Lenny Daniel, David Kent Mama: Ivy Fox Fred: Nick Adams, Lenny Daniel Mary: Christopher, Nick Swings: Nick, Lenny, Tonya playbill courtesy of my dear sweet Mom, who saw the show with a girlfriend. mother LOVED DeJean, and she's seen her share of Roxies from Marilu to Paige. She said MDJ nailed the role in every way, but did comment on a little tummy and turkey drumstick legs. She praised Terra too (as well she should have...bring Ms. Stunning back to B'way!), and said the tour was in overall great shape. |

Turkey drumstick legs? MDJ? Anyway, thanks for posting that cast list. Looks like three female cast members changes; none for the guys. Theresa Coombe the new June has an official website. |
||||
| Kev |
yeah there are a handful in the program who have webpages therese was also in the movie, though I haven't looked yet |
||||
| Linda |
really? did a quick search on Google and other than Terra and Michelle, I'm not coming up with anything. |
||||
| SupremeDiva |
For now, Terra is contracted on tour until June. Not sure if she'll extend, come back to Broadway or go onto other endeavours. |

[edited to avoid silly fights but i still think that comment was unnecessary]
| Kev |
saw that comin'...
bottom line: if you're in Chicago, there will inevitably be comments on how one looks. (and regardless, that doesn't affect my opinion of their performances). i can think of quite a few people who are larger than the average bear that have been in CHICAGO that no one has commented on. why start now? ...oh but we have *definitely commented on some of them in the past |
||||
| MichiFan |
i would have said that if it was posted about ANYone in the current tour. as i said, they all look amazing. i'm not sticking up for anyone here, they can speak for themselves, i am just saying, i thought it was unnecessary.
and if you saw it coming, why did you post it? just to see if i would react? it seems an unimportant comment. and i dont think what you say is true. i think if someone in this show is, by your standards, "fat", they are never going to be the best at their part. |
||||
| Kev |
I posted it because it was included in ma mere's comments. I was not intending to spark a reaction from you...I just expected it regardless. you wouldn't be making this big a deal out of it if it wasn't MDJ. |

Random questions.
I saw MDJ in the role. But can't remember. She does the MAMB leaps, correct? Paige Davis did them also, right? The leaps seem to becoming rare these days, so just wondering. I know they are both great dancers, I assume they did the leaps. Too bad I can't remember. |
||||
| Kev |
Michelle did them. Paige did not. at least when I caught them. |
||||
| SupremeDiva |
Paige did not do them when I saw her on Broadway
