HOLY JESUS! I loved Topol. Zero was funny, but I like a more balanced portrayal of Tevye, and I loooooooove Topol's voice!

That means he was only 37-38 when he did the movie, which was released in 1971. Briefly, he appeared to be that age: During "Far from The Home I Love", there was a short flashback to a much younger Hodel (8 to 10) running into his arms. Probably Elaine Edwards or Candy Bonstein (Shprintze or Bielke) doubled as young Hodel; the role is uncredited.
